Federal
Criminal Records
A two step search of the United
States court system consisting of, first, determination of a possible
name match and second, a more defined search within the district the
possible match is located. Because each court maintains its own reporting
systems there may be variations among jurisdictions as to available
information. Federal criminal records show criminal complaints brought
by the U.S. government against defendants for federal criminal law violations
such as mail fraud, bank robbery, federal crimes against a person or
entity, interstate drug trafficking, kidnapping, tax evasion, etc. A
state may have more than one Federal District Court.
