Generally this is a tier 3 (High risk) and tier 2 (Moderate risk) search of the sex offender registries nationally as well as a specified state(s). A high risk convicted offender has been assessed as posing a substantial risk of repeating the crime and poses a threat to public safety. Moderate risk convicted offenders have been assessed to pose a probable risk of repeating and being a threat to public safety. Other tier definitions are based on length of imprisonment and/or gravity of the offense.   It is federal law that a sex offender register whenever they relocate. Availability of this information varies by state. Our investigation uses whatever means available to procure information from the best and most current resources.
